CROCHET/KNIT FOR CHARITY

We are a group of ladies that have multi-levels of experience in crochet and knitting; we meet on the first Thursday of each month in the Sts. Peter and Paul Meeting Room from 1-3 pm.

If you would like more information on this fun group, please call Dee Baxter at (815) 874-2306.

We have been making over a thousand items yearly and donating to our local charities. These items include 68 red, white, and blue lap robes that are given to our veterans on Veterans Day in local nursing homes, such as Cor Marie, Bickford House, Morning Star, Alden Debs, Baby afghans that have been given to Pregnancy Center and the Madonna House. Hats and scarves that have been given to Carpenters Place, Rock House Kids, OSF cancer center remedies, St Elizabeth center, and other local charities, lap robes for cancer patients at OSF hospital as well as Northern IL Cancer center. Baby hats are made for newborn babies. In 2018, we made 212 Christmas hats that were divided between the three hospitals for the babies, plus the many hats that are made throughout the year. Scarves are made for our St Rita group that goes to Washington for the March of Life.

Thank you to all who donate yarn for us to make our creations to give to those in need!
